Urban Loft Apartment
Designed by: Marcia Moore
The client? A gentleman of refined tastes, who loves to cook and entertain, and has a particular love for baseball.
The address? A new high rise in downtown St. Louis — One Cardinal Way (of course!)
The view? A fantastic panorama of Busch Stadium (and the Gateway Arch for non-game days.)
Outfitted with versatile seating in casual, party-friendly fabrics, this sophisticated space addressed the client’s request for great design, comfort and plenty of style. Superb accent pieces include a leather ottoman in Cardinal red, a 4-color mirrored cabinet that provides abundant storage, and a gloss white console table that expands to seat six.
The client’s art collection inspired the color palette throughout. In the guest bedroom, black, ivory and coffee brown come together in a vintage poster featuring St. Louis legend Josephine Baker. An iconic poster (circa 1929) by Leonetto Cappiello for the Nitrolian Paint Company is a dramatic accent in the master bedroom, where tall bedside lamps with concrete bases work seamlessly with concrete walls and exposed HVAC pipes.
Seats salvaged from the old Busch Stadium, with a “Cardinal-eye” view of every game, made this project a Grand Slam.
