What we did

Grandmillennial Glow-up

Designed by: Kathleen Matthews

Our challenge for this addition was to seamlessly blend the old house and the new breakfast room, hearth room and sunroom, with family gatherings and parties in mind. Wood floors were added in the breakfast area and hearth room for continuity with the existing house and for a vintage feel. An updated, warm color palette ties the old and new. A large dining table and plenty of seating in the hearth room ensure ample comfy accommodations for game day. The whimsical dining room chandelier and chair fabric add a touch of fun, and French doors add character and continuity to the sunroom space. Thoughtful considerations add style and function to the sunroom. Indoor/outdoor furniture, plenty of windows, tile floors, a fireplace, and wall-length folding doors with an optional bug screen create a truly comfortable all-season experience.
