12 Big Design Ideas for your Tiny Bathroom
Turn your Tiny Bath into the hidden gem of the home
Every home has one – a small bathroom. Inside tiny homes and grand homes, there is almost always a small bath. This is one of my favorite places to play with decorating in a home. Because it’s small, the cost is less than a master bath. You only need 20 square feet of tile, not 200. You only have one sink, not two. Because it is a place you don’t spend a lot of time, it is the perfect place to get creative or bold or whimsical or whatever your heart desires. So here is a gallery of ideas on what to do with that boring, or outdated, or hideous small bath that exists in your home.
A neutral color palette keeps a small room from feeling busy or overwhelming. Adding one or two focal points keeps things interesting. Here the beautiful granite remnant, stainless steel sink and oversized nautilus art add the interest that is anchored by the neutral color palette.
The bold use of color and some faux-paint on the window transforms this white bath.
GO BLACK AND WHITE:
Black and white and a touch of silver and gold, along with large-scale patterned wallpaper put this bathroom into the ranks of glamorous. A curved front to the vanity is a nice way to give the illusion of more space.
We all know mirrors can open up a small space. These antiqued mirrors add a touch of sophisticated tradition.
This custom vanity has a minimalist footprint with the opulence of a Rococo design. This tiny space has lots of style.
Here there is lots of pattern but it doesn’t overpower the room. How you ask? One pop of bold red draws your eye to the mirror and calms the look of the busy wall.
GO TOILE ALL OVER:
Toile is a busy pattern but using it everywhere actually tones down the chaos by creating a feeling of unity.
GO FOR THE GOLD:
So Rococo (that means over-the-top).
I am reminded of a Japanese painting of a mountain range – very Zen. I love the feeling of being outside.
GO HOLLYWOOD GLAM: OR GO CLASSIC:
This is the epitome of using mirrors to create the illusion of space. So glamorous!
I love the ethereal, other-worldly feeling. No need for a nightlight – just leave the vanity on!
GO OVER-THE-TOP OR GO ALL-OUT:
This makes me feel like I walked into a dream or into an alternate reality. I love the playfulness of this room.
