A top residential interior designer, Michelle Banks began her career in 1991 working for various architectural firms, a design-build firm, and a residential design firm before founding her own suburban Chicago residential design firm in 2004. Following a recent move to St. Louis, Michelle joined Marcia Moore Design as Design Director.
Michelle’s sophisticated, yet edgy interiors mix modern and classic design elements and different periods and styles to create timeless spaces perfectly tailored for each of her clients.
Her work has been featured in numerous publications, including the Chicago Tribune and the Daily Herald, and she has contributed her design advice to Chicago Home + Garden, Luxe Interiors + Design and i4design magazine.
Michelle is president-elect of the Missouri East Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). She has served as president of the Illinois chapter, on the board as its public relations and marketing chair and was twice co-chair of the ASID Designer Showcase Houses. She is also a Leadership in Energy and Efficient Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP) and a National Council Interior Design Qualified (NCIDQ) certified interior designer.
A graduate of Mount Mary University, Michelle earned a bachelor of arts degree in interior design. She also holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration and marketing from the University of Missouri.
