When David Reed was seven years old he was already drawing detailed floor plans and room elevations for enormous castles that towered over imaginary kingdoms. Today, this early visionary is still drawing and imagining, maybe not for castles, but for real homes and real clients.
A 2011 graduate of Maryville University with a bachelor’s degree in interior design, David began his professional journey as a commercial rep for hardwood flooring and tile, a job on the periphery of design, but which gave him much experience on the technical side–calculating square footages and specifying flooring options.
From there, David honed his craft at Brooksberry Kitchens and Baths, as well as another top interior design firm, before joining Marcia Moore Design as a technical designer.
Obsessed with details and a self-proclaimed engineer at heart, David enjoys the puzzle aspect of design: moving doorways around, changing windows, knocking down walls—whatever it takes to make a space function better and flow effortlessly.
Fluent in multiple design software programs, including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and 2020, David creates detailed floor plans, comprehensive space plans and realistic 3D renderings. You’ll also find him on every job site taking meticulous measurements for furniture, cabinetry and millwork.
David’s creativity doesn’t stop with design. A music aficionado, audiophile and vinyl record collector, David plays guitar, collects them and goes to as many live shows as he can possibly attend.
